5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Shops & Restaurants: The range and quality are excellent. Situated seconds away from North Laine with it's independent boutiques, vintage markets, and an amazing food scene ranging from casual street food to high-end dining. Aldi is at the bottom of the road for practical grocery shopping. Bars & Nightlife: The Blockhouse is surrounded by traditional pubs, craft beer bars, and other venues. Open Spaces: Although situated in a dense urban centre, a large public park is just a short walk away. Brighton Seafront and beach are roughly a 15-minute walk. Transport Links - Trains: Brighton Train Station is only a 5-to-7-minute walk away, providing direct connections to London Victoria and London Bridge in under an hour, as well as Gatwick Airport in 30 minutes. Buses: There are bus stops directly outside the property. Buses run regularly to the rest of the city and the universities. Problems: Because it is a central, heavily pedestrianised area, driving can be slow, traffic congested, and road layouts confusing for delivery drivers or visitors. Parking Availability: On-street parking is very restricted and expensive. There are a few on-site parking spaces which can be reserved directly with management if available. Secure indoor bicycle storage is provided on-site. Bin Collections & Deliveries: The Blockhouse has a superb on-site concierge and maintenance team, meaning parcel storage and waste management are handled easily within the complex. Anti-Social Behaviour: While central Brighton and the London Road experience standard city-centre nightlife foot traffic, residents at The Blockhouse feels very secure as a gated complex with 24/7 security and it's on-site team. Traffic & Noise: Because Pelham Street sits right next to the vibrant North Laine, daytime hustle and weekend nightlife noise are part of everyday life. However, the building has excellent insulation and street noise is well-blocked out.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management always respond quickly, professionally, and in a timely manner to any issues or problems that I have had. The on-site team and Reception staff acknowledge and address maintenance requests very quickly and handle all of my concerns in a polite, professional, and approachable manner. Reporting Facilities: Tenants can log problems or report issues directly through an on-site app.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Pros: Incredible Insulation: You rarely, if ever, need to turn the heating on during the winter, meaning energy costs are predominantly just for hot water. Seamless Management: The on-site front-of-house team and property management are highly proactive, acknowledging and fixing maintenance requests very quickly. Cons: Depending on where your flat sits in Block A, you may find the layout regarding the lift slightly frustrating. Car Parking Scarcity: Secure on-site parking spaces are incredibly limited.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I did a house tour before moving in, so I knew everything about the property. Definitely recommend taking one before moving in!

5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Good things about the local area: * Good public transport links: ~5 min to the Overground and ~12 min to the District/Piccadilly lines. * Plenty of green spaces: Several small parks right next to the building, plus both Acton Park and Gunnersbury Park nearby. * Lots of playgrounds: One directly in front of the building - ideal for families with children. * Quiet road at present: Due to nearby construction, Lina House is currently on an effective cul-de-sac, so there is very little through traffic. Why it might not be for you: * Acton Plaza can get noisy: Located right in front of Lina House, it is often very busy (especially around after-school pickup times and late into summer evenings). Keep this in mind if you prefer peace and quiet or spotless streets. * Ongoing redevelopment: The area is still undergoing major construction with multiple active sites and a relatively high population density - definitely not a quiet village vibe. * Fewer immediate amenities: Being a newer development, there aren’t many independent cafés or pubs just around the corner; expect a 15-20 minute walk to reach the nearest high street.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Any issues we had were resolved in a timely manner, though we didn't have anything major or urgent. The biggest headache was some confusion around payments during one of our renewals, where the team had trouble setting up the Direct Debit for a couple of months; however, I believe this was mostly down to internal miscommunication on their end.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The youth centre in the nearby building was somewhat of a concern for residents when we first moved in, with worries about antisocial behaviour, but it doesn't seem to be an issue these days.

4Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The location is excellent and very convenient, right in the city centre. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and public transport is easily accessible. Overall, it is a very convenient area to live in. And I hope the parking lot could be used asap.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The reception staff are always friendly and helpful when I raise an issue. However, the maintenance response could be faster. For example, I reported a broken light in my apartment around two weeks ago, but it has still not been repaired.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I had known about the ongoing renovation work, as it can sometimes be quite noisy during the day. I also did not realise how much the film on the windows would affect the view. It would be much nicer if this could be removed once the renovation work is completed.

There are loads of shops and places to eat nearby. New street is a 10 minute walk and there bus stops just outside the building. There is no anti-social behaviour here. Its nice to have 24 hour security. staff in the office on site are very friendly and helpful. The co-working spaces are great. You met wonderful people living here.
